Here’s a little bit about me…
Hello, and welcome!
I’m Jaspreet — the ceramic artist and founder of Ceramics by Jas.
My clay journey began in Singapore in 2020, in the most unlikely of places: a spare room in our apartment. What started as a quiet creative escape slowly grew into the heart of my life and my work.
Before clay found me, I spent nearly a decade in the financial services industry, armed with an MBA and a very structured career path. But life has a way of nudging us toward what truly lights us up. For me, that spark was clay — grounding, meditative, endlessly surprising. I often wish I had discovered it earlier, yet I’m grateful for every step that led me here. Those years shaped the person and the artist I’ve become.
My Studio

My first studio was humble — a small guest room with a less-than-inspiring view — but it held two full years of growth, learning, and determination. It taught me that you don’t need the perfect conditions to begin; you just need the willingness to start. As my work and dreams grew, so did the need for more space. Today, I create in a light-filled studio that finally feels like home — a place where ideas evolve, hands stay busy, and clay becomes something meaningful.
My inspiration
Have you ever travelled to a new place and found yourself gazing out of a tiny window — wondering about the lives unfolding on the other side?
Who these people are… what brings them joy… what they wake up for each morning… what stories shape their days?
I find myself asking these questions all the time when I travel. There’s something deeply moving about observing life as it happens quietly, naturally, beautifully — in cafés, in marketplaces, in the soft glow of someone’s home at dusk.
And somewhere along the way, I realised that the everyday objects people live with — the plates they reach for at breakfast, the mugs they wrap their hands around, the little bowls holding their treasures — tell a part of their story. These ordinary things become extraordinary once you notice the life they hold.
That’s where so much of my inspiration comes from.
In the textures of a cobblestone street, in the blue of a tiled wall, in the curve of a handmade bowl in a small-town café — I see hints of the human experience. I see pieces of stories that find their way into my ceramics.
Travel opens my eyes; clay lets me translate what I see.
Each piece I create carries a little bit of that curiosity, that wonder, that quiet observation. A piece of pottery is never just an object — it is a fragment of a life, a memory, a moment captured in form and colour.
And when you bring it into your home, it becomes part of your story too.
Clay and magic..
Working with clay feels a little like magic — a conversation between imagination and earth. Every piece is shaped slowly with my hands, with intention, gratitude, and the hope that it finds a place in someone’s everyday moments.
Handmade ceramics have their own quiet language.
They carry the imprint of the maker, the hours of patience, and the story behind their creation. No two pieces are ever the same — and that uniqueness is what I treasure most.
Thank You for Being Here
This is a glimpse into my world as a ceramic artist.
My hope is that something I create brings a smile to your face, adds beauty to your home, or becomes part of a cherished daily ritual.
Here’s to following what lights us up, embracing the magic around us, and creating a life filled with joy, creativity, and intention.
