Today I'll share about some of the recent changes on Instagram which I feel are more in favour of creatives and small businesses  ! 🏺
 
In the competitive world of online marketing, Instagram stands out as an engaging platform to showcase your handmade products and connect with a global audience. It is constantly undergoing changes with the latest being in favour of creators & small businesses.
 
Here are some growth hacks for creatives-
 
1. Consistency is Key:
Consistency is still the most important factor for growth on Instagram. Consistency, in this context, is about creating a sustainable rhythm that aligns with your capacity and the expectations of your audience. It's a shift from the previous narrative that emphasized constant output to one that values regular, well-thought-out content. This change acknowledges the importance of maintaining a presence on the platform without sacrificing the authenticity and creativity that makes your content stand out.
 
2. Reels are still relevant:
Reels, Instagram's short-form video feature, have proven to be highly engaging and effective in capturing the attention of your audience. However, it's important to recognize that while reels are a powerful tool, they're not the only avenue for growth. The key is balance- while incorporating reels, also include other formats like carousels. Each type of content serves a unique purpose, contributing to a well-rounded and engaging Instagram presence.
 
3. Focus on Carousels: 
You can use carousels to tell a story through engaging video and photo content. To maximize the impact of your carousels, consider them as a visual storytelling medium. Whether you're showcasing your creative process, sharing behind-the-scenes, or unfolding a step-by-step tutorial, carousels enable you to guide your audience through a more engaging experience. And currently they are one of the most effective channels for growth as Instagram is also promoting them in our feeds.
 
4. Prioritize SEO & Keywords: 
While hashtags were once the go-to for visibility, focusing on SEO and keywords can now significantly improve your discoverability on the platform. Include relevant keywords in captions, your profile, and reel subtitles. This increase the chances of your content being discovered when users explore related topics or themes.
Consider conducting a thorough keyword research to identify terms relevant to your content and the kind of people you want to attract i.e your ideal customers.
 
5. Strategic Hashtags:
Hashtags are still relevant, but the rules have evolved. It's no longer about inundating your posts with an extensive library of hashtags; it's about strategic selection. Aim for hashtags with follower counts ranging between 50,000 to 500,000 which balances relevance and reach. Hashtags with excessively high follower counts might drown your content in a sea of posts, while hashtags with too few followers might limit your content's exposure. Consider experimenting with various hashtags to identify the ones that resonate best with your audience and niche.
